THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING

Mitsutaka Inamine, CEOWhitePoint, Inc., an expert in digital forensics technology development, is empowering them with a data seizure solution that overcomes the challenges posed by next-generation devices and allows access to data. This tool is changing the way law enforcement agencies extract and preserve evidence.
“With our digital forensic tool, first responders can easily create an evidence image from a computer’s storage drives or a specific partition with simple operations and a few inputs in under 20 minutes,” says Mitsutaka Inamine, CEO of WhitePoint.
Digital Evidence Collection for Modern Devices
The tool creates screenshots of information on computers and smartphones. This eliminates the need to download the file, overcoming challenges in extracting data protected by security features like encryption and hashing. WhitePoint’s developed tool can also record videos of operators’ screens.
These images and videos can be used with various forensic tools like EnCase and FTK Imager. WhitePoint provides format options like E01 or .dd, according to the tool used at the time of preservation, and can generate a hash value (MD5, SHA256) to verify the data with a single click. It is also user-friendly and saves time by eliminating the need for training.
The tool can also act as a duplicator for investigating confiscated computers, diagnosing hard disks, and forensics, and automatically recording all work, eliminating the need for conventional methods of evidence preservation.
Developing this tool gave WhitePoint insights into how data recovery can be made easy. However, the wrong people getting their hands on valuable data could lead to potential disasters. Based on this forethought and its experience in the digital forensics space, it pioneered a USB memory data erasure software, DiskDeleter, now part of Jungle, Inc.
A Portable Data Eraser
This one-of-a-kind tool addresses a significant challenge organizations face when disposing of or transferring systems, as their computers and servers contain confidential data. They reach out to external providers, but that data erasure service may not do a complete job and provide a false certificate.
DiskDeleter, featuring the best of WhitePoint's technology, issues a robust and authentic data erasure report that is tamper-proof as it combines encryption and hashing, guaranteeing complete data erasure. The tool is easily accessible and quickly and completely removes confidential information from servers, USBs, SSDs, and HDDs. DiskDeleter is available in two options—UX and TX. They possess the same functionality, but each model targets and works with different memory devices.
The output data erasure report generates two files. The first, AT.html, is an anti-tamper file encrypted by advanced encryption standard AES-256 that is obfuscated and cannot be deciphered. The second is HASH.txt, a file that uses a secure hash algorithm (SHA-256) to confirm the original match. These two files are core for the original Certificate of Erasure.
“What makes DiskDeleter unique is if the erasure report file is tampered with, the hash value generated by it will not match, and the erasure certificate cannot be opened,” says Inamine.
”With Our Digital Forensic Tool, First Responders Can Easily Create An Evidence Image From A Computer’s Internal Hard Disk, SSD, Or Specific Partition With Simple Operations And A Few Inputs In Under 20 Minutes”
Staff can verify original data erasure certificates, as opposed to false conventional erasure report files like HTML or CSV files. DiskDeleter leaves no room for human intervention or editing, proving the certificate’s authenticity.
In addition, it provides 16 critical data deletion options a client can choose from based on their device, data confidentiality, and management requirements. Some of the options are dedicated to the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Air Force.
The Building Blocks behind the Technology
An amalgam of world-class staff brings together WhitePoint’s digital forensics tools. The team consists of talented engineers from Japan and India led by Inamine, an expert in developing data security products for storage and cloud computing. He developed DiskDeleter based on his 25 years of experience working for leading companies in the digital forensics arena.
Major corporations, governments, and law enforcement agencies adopt WhitePoint’s digital forensics tools. Every client that approaches it is provided with a dedicated UI/ UX designer who consults with them and quickly creates a map of their requirements.WhitePoint uses this map as a reference throughout the product development cycle.
It initially offers clients a basic set of features they can later build on by adding additional features. This customizability allows for agile development of the product and room to grow at any time.
Secure Data Transfer
WhitePoint also takes into account the disadvantages of the free file transfer tools available on the Internet. Although these tools help users quickly transfer files between devices, it scores low for security. WhitePoint’s file transfer service for freelancers, Transfer Center, comes with robust security features.
Communications stay encrypted with strong SSL/ TLS encryption, and files are protected with AES-256 encryption after recurrent scans for viruses. Transfer Center uses hashes to verify the messages and files transferred between a sender and receiver.![]()
What Makes Our Solution Diskdeleter1 Unique Is That If The Erasure Report File Is Tampered With, The Hash Value Generated By It Will Not Match And The Erasure Certificate Cannot Be Opened
WhitePoint maintains the tool’s control through a data center located in Japan, which complies with international security standards. Firewalls like the web application firewall and intrusion prevention systems and intrusion detection systems ensure its security. A user can also enable an OTP-based authentication process by specifying a downloadable email address when sending files, preventing data leaks and erroneous transmissions.
To make file transfer easier, WhitePoint has released a personal messaging application, Leaper, which creates a private network between devices. The app allows quick and intuitive movement of files with end-to-end encryption across devices, services, and platforms. A three-step transfer method streamlines this process.
In addition, Leaper has a patented Message Lock feature that allows users to share private or confidential information, including bank or credit card information, passwords, serial numbers, product keys, or confirmation codes. The content is locked on a single device, making it invisible everywhere else, and can only be accessed with PIN or biometrics on a destination device.
Through its accessible and secure tools, WhitePoint is well-positioned to optimize and expedite data erasure, recovery, and transfer procedures, with the ultimate goal of revolutionizing the digital forensics landscape. ES
